Deborah Barany

The DYNS program gave me a first look at how interdisciplinary research can be used to tackle challenging questions in neuroscience. It gave me the foundation and confidence to develop my own interdisciplinary collaborations while in the program and in the years since.

Post PhD

After graduating, I started a postdoctoral fellowship in Neurology at Emory University, working in stroke neurorehabilitation. In 2018, I moved on to a second postdoctoral position at the University of Georgia, conducting research in sensorimotor neuroscience. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia, where I direct the Brain and Action Lab (https://coe.uga.edu/research/labs/brain-and-action-lab/) and co-direct the Neurostimulation Lab.
